Wife's new blog- All Things Mommy

I know a lot of you guys can pass this on to your wives that my wife has a new blog about what it is to be a mommy. It talks about what kids do that drive us parents crazy, what we believe in for our kids, why we home school, this new schooling technique they call "unschooling." I thought it was complete crap until I saw results. My boy is reading everything he can come close enough to see, and my girl is so quick at answering math questions, reading and her writing has improved a ton! Check it out, she'll explain what it is, and if you all have questions about it, my wife will answer them for you. Here's the link for it:

Only in Talladega

For race fans in Talladega, it would be the day that they either celebrate or mourn, but either way, they definately won't forget. When Jeff Gordon surpassed the late Sr.'s 76th career win on the day of his birthday, Sr. would have been 56 years young. The fans showed Gordon how they really felt about the win, by thowing beer cans on to the track. Race Officals warned fans all week that if an act like this occured, fans would be arrested and or banned from the track. The anouncers stated that they were happy to see the Race Officials following through on the threat. Any thoughts ya'll?

Martinsville Speedway April Fools Day Race

The race yesterday at Martinsville was won by Jimmie Johnson while Jeff Gordon came in 2nd. Gordon slammed Johnson's rear bumper on the final lap, in turns 3 and 4. Gordon pulled halfway alongside his teammate, causing the two cars to bump into each other. Both phenomenal drivers were able to keep control of their vehicles and Johnson was able to keep the lead, coming in first.
Denny Hamlen, who started on the pole, led 125 laps then went on to finish 3rd. Kyle Bush came in 4th and Dale Earnhardt Jr., who led 137 laps came in 5th.
Tony Stewart came in 7th, and here's where I need to tell you all that all of the above drivers were driving Chevy's. Way to go Chevrolet!
Scott Riggs came in 8th, Jamie McMurray 9th and Matt Kenseth finished 10th.
There were 13 caution periods for 93 laps and the race was red flagged for over 31 minutes on lap 354 due to rain.

Busch Takes Bristol Motor Speedway

Kyle Busch wins the first race to be won by a COT (car of tomorrow), which was designed to be safer than previous models. Bristol is a track to be reconned with. It is the fastest half mile in the world, and has been called a "huge cereal bowl." The cars are almost expected to wreck due to the extremely close quarters and fans love seeing races live because of the high amount of action.

Atlanta Motor Speedway- Johnson's 2nd Straight Victory

Atlanta Motor Speedway, known as the "tire eater," had most drivers concerned on Sunday, after a struggle with Goodyear's tires in both the Vegas race and Bush race Saturday. The track however, was no match for Jimmie Johnson who lead 132 of the first 238 laps, who later went on to win the race. The 25th victory of his cup career moved Johnson within 28 points of current leader Mark Martin. That leaves Johnson 20 points behind teammate Jeff Gordon.

Bush Race Saturday Claimed By the Track

The Bush race on Saturday was won by the track due to tire issues. Cars would make it about 10 laps before the right rear tires started showing cords. The tire wear progressed as the Bush race went on. As far as Jeff Burton, an unclaimed victim of the track, he said he didn't know how long his right rear would last, with 5 laps left to go. That was one concern he needed not dwell on Saturday, being that he went on to win. Sunday, however, could prove devastating with the track being 200 miles or 130 laps longer than Saturday's race.

Johnson took Las Vegas Motor Speedway

After a rough day at the track with Gordon leading 111 laps, Johnson took the victory. This was his third Nextel Cup win at Las Vegas. All the drivers were concerned with the new Goodyear left side, hard tires. Gordon said he felt like he was on ice and Kenseth said he spend the weekend scared to death that he was going to wreck himself or someone else. Stewart said he thought the track owner Bruton, screwed up the once nice race track. Johnson said he understood Goodyear's desire to make the tires and drivers safer but he thought all the drivers would have benefited from testing the new tires. That opportunity was not given to them.

Revival At Daytona

This Sunday is the first time since "Black Sunday," when Dale Earnhardt Sr. lost his life in turn four, in the last lap at the Daytona 500, that a race has been scheduled on February 18th. February 18, 2001 was a tragic day in Nascar history. Nascar has kept drivers from racing on February 18th in honor of Earnhardt Sr. for the last five years. The mourning period ends, where it began, this Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Daytona.

Debut of COT

March is the debut of the COT (car of tomorrow)! Will drivers have problems with the car of tomorrow? Critics are getting louder and funnier. Don Miller, Penske Racing South president, described the COT "butt ugly." Jeff Gordon just plain doesn't like it. Others think it is more costly, less productive. There's just not a whole lot of good things to say about it. Here's a link if you guys want to read more: http://www.nascar.com/2006/news/headlines/cup/10/21/car.of.tomorrow.feelings/index.html
